My coach, Matt Ebersole, wrote this great blog post a couple of weeks ago.
“Anything that causes undue risk of jeopardizing showing up at the start line on race day healthy and ready to run should make (training) decisions very clear.”
Of course, his advice kicks off with a quote from “Once A Runner,” so I was already digging it. But the advice is spot-on, and applicable to all of us training for spring races.
In the post, Matt reminds us that there is no finish line without a starting line, and offers his advice on ensuring you make it to both lines this spring.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I just shared on my Facebook and emailed it to a friend. He did such a great job making those points and it’s good for us all to remember (says the person who has had two injuries and about five weeks of actual training in the last three months).
Glad you liked it! He’s a smart dude. He posted this right after I hurt my back (and didn’t tell him for a week), and I was like, “This is for me, huh?” Lol!
